Results from the 1st Annual Torontodarts.com Blind Draw Pub Crawl

Well, we did it: four different blind draws over the course of four weeks at four different dart pubs, and what a blast it was. With 30 different people attending, prizes, free food and some really good darts in between we'd have to say that the event was a success!

Each night was a stand-alone tournament, with overall points carried over into a 4 night appreciation event where top point getters over the 4 nights would get some additional prizes.

And a hearty thanks go out to the 32 different players who showed up at one or more of our four locations. We had 9 people who showed up for 3 nights or more, which is impressive when you consider that most already play at least one other night of darts in league. The way we looked at it, this was an extra night of darts for most people who otherwise would not play darts on a Thursday night and especially so for those who are located on the eastern side of the city with easy access to The Danforth.

Throughout the 4 nights, we gave away nearly $500 in prize money, about half that again in certificates, and hundreds more in prizes donated by our terrific sponsors ñ thatís about $1,000 total cash, certificates and swag, and tons of fun through all the draws.

We were able to bring some Thursday darts to a part of town that overall doesnít have very much organized dart action going for it otherwise.

With Edwinís fantastic 170 out in one of the final matches of the entire event, weíre happy to say things ended up literally on a high note. And what a great way to cap off the 4-night event!

So thanks to all the players who showed and hopefully before too long weíll be doing another event or two. Weíll let you know about that. We had a few rookie dart players show up through the event, and by all accounts thoroughly enjoyed themselves and their introduction to darts in a blind draw format.

To those players, we have to say keep practicing and donít worry about what the competition is throwing: just go up there and throw your best.

As always, our goal in doing this was all about having some fun playing darts ñ and getting more people out hitting the boards.
