Toronto Darts Photo Album
We've added a new feature to the site - a Photo Album. We will be updating photos in the album over the next couple of months to bring you up to date on some of the photos we've taken over the last years. The album allows you to post comments as well, so take advantage. We've got a couple dozen photos up right now, should be several hundred by Christmas. Check to see if you're in some of them!

Sunday
Colin "Jaws" Lloyd wins the Sunday PDC London event, the Canadian Masters Players Championship, denying Saturday's winner Jamie Caven back-to-back victories. Opening his day by narrowly missing a 9-darter, "Jaws" served notice he was a serious contender on the day. Facing the previous day's winner Jamie Caven in the final, Lloyd's strong play continued and he breezed to an easy 6-1 victory.
Saturday
Congrats to Jamie Caven on his winning his 3rd PDC Pro Tour Title in London, Ontario Saturday at the PDC Canadian Championship
in a 6-4 victory over Michael van Gerwen.
With more PDC pros attending this year's event than previous years, it wasn't long before the entire Canadian contingent was eliminated
from the running as both John Part and Bob Sinnaeve were bested in their Round of 32 match ups.
Southern Ontario darters John Morrison and Dave Watson both fell to Caven in the early rounds, while van Gerwen took out Paul Addison in
the Round of 64 on their way to meeting in the final.
Sunday will also see some terrific dart action as the second major event - the Canadian Masters Players Championship - goes live around
noon. Dennis Priestly, who won the Australian Open Players Championship last week, is the current 2-time winner of this event.

Our Group "The Big Push For Darts in Canada" Makes Facebook History!
Less than a month ago we started a Facebook group we thought would be a small effort to help grow darts in this country and called it "The Big Push For Darts in Canada". As of the beginning of June the group had 1,290 members, making it the largest Canadian Dart Group in Facebook history! We thank all those who joined the movement and for all their efforts at spreading the word. As you can see from the graphic, we've chosen a website for the movement, but it's not up yet, and probably won't be until early July.

Congratulations to Chris Scutt - #1 in Ranked Men's Player in Canada!
Congratulations are in order for Ontario's own Chris Scutt on achieving top spot in the 2009-2010 NDFC national player rankings.
The ranking, which came out this past week, is based on his achievement in a number of NDFC ranked events held across the country, including our very own
Provincial Championship hosted by Darts Ontario.
For those of you familiar with the ranking system, you know what an accomplishment this is, especially with so many great players around.
Other King of the Hill attendees who made the top 20:
- Canadian Champion Terry Hayhurst at #10
- 2-time KOTH winner Bernie Miller at #12
- KOTH Cricket 1 Winner Andre Carman at #18
For the ladies ranking, reigning Queen of the hill Kim Whaley-Hilts was #2 in the country with former Queen of the Hill Debralee Roberts at #24. Local Toronto dart players Zoe Reid placed at #30, and Joanne Alves at #46. Congratulations to all, and here's to hopes at a another successful year ahead..

Friday Night Blind Draw lands at Maydays
The organizers of the Friday Night Blind Draw have just informed us the long-running tourney will go forward with Mayday Malone's (1078 Bathurst Street at Dupont) for the next little while. We like Maydays and think it's a great dart pub. With General Manager Johnny Luv an avid dart player himself, we think the Friday Night crowd will grow to love this little bar that loves darts.

Canada's First Tournament Videos in High Def!
At TorontoDarts.com we've been working hard on innovation and doing what's never been done before. Apart from getting more people out to play and bringing new people into the sport of darts, we're giving veteran players what they've asked us for - More tournaments and footage of tournaments online. We're happy to announce that we've uploaded Canada's first HD videos of major dart tournaments to YouTube - The TorontoDarts.com King of the Hill series. To make it convenient for you to find, we've added it to our video page where we will be providing video footage from all major tournaments we run in the future.
Friday Blind Draw - New Location Being Worked Out
It bears repeating: There will be no Friday night Blind Draw (Doug and Nina's) tonight, April 30th. If you don't already know, the location of the long-running Friday night staple - the Ferret & Firkin at Spadina and Bloor - has shut its doors. A new location in the east end of the city is being worked on, and Wayne Bowman will be working hard all this coming weekend to make it happen for next Friday. We'll keep you posted early next week with a progress report.
Ferret & Firkin Confirmed Closed
We have now confirmed the Ferret & Firkin at Spadina and Bloor is now closed. The pub may re-open in the near future, but we will have to give it a few weeks to get a clearer picture. The Monday Singles Shoot and Friday Blind Draw will be held at venues TBA. Check back here as we'll post updates on their new locations as soon as we hear something.
Mega Draw DartMaster 3 Winner
Congratulations to Ross Satterley of Toronto on winning a free DartMaster 3 in our Mega Draw. We finally were able to catch up to Ross and take a pic. of him and his new toy. By the way, this is probably the World's best dart prize you can win without ever throwing a dart!
New Sunday Blind Draw in Toronto
Big Ronnie's at 1162 Danforth Ave (4 Doors West of Greenwood Ave.) is now hosting a weekly Blind Draw on Sunday afternoons. Registration closes strictly at 1PM, so be sure to get there early. This location is easy to get to by subway and there is paid street parking in front on Danforth Ave. Also, this venue is owned by a along-time dart player who is making good on his promise to "Do darts up right" since taking over in early January.
